Aromatherapy recipes for nearly every ailment are numerous, and books for aromatherapy recipes can be easily found at any good book store, or on websites dedicated to aromatherapy on the World Wide Web. Let us examine a few.
Here are a couple of aromatherapy recipes for helping insomnia. The first one requires about ten drops of roman chamomile oil, about five drops of clary sage oil, and about five drops of bergamot oil. Mix these oils together in a clean, dark colored bottle. Add one to two drops of this blend to a tissue or clean handkerchief and put this inside your pillow to help you fall asleep. You can also put this blended oil into a diffuser about hour before bedtime to help make you feel relaxed and drowsy.
Lavender can also be used to help relax and make you sleep, but do not use more than one to two drops as anymore than this can cause the opposite effect of making you feel awake and refreshed. Combining lavender with bergamot and/or lemon oils can help make the sluggishness of that feeling of “brain drain” go away, leaving one feeling refreshed and wakeful.
Need something to help combat depression? Try these recipes. This first blend calls for about one drop of rose oil, three drops of sandalwood oil, and about one drop of orange oil. The second blend calls for about three drops of bergamot oil and two drops of clary sage oil. This third recipe says to use one drop of lavender oil, one drop of ylang ylang oil, and three drops of grapefruit oil. The last recipe given here calls for about two drops of frankincense oil, one drop of lemon oil, and a few drops of either jasmine, or neroli, oils. As with any of these blends, they can be used as as bath oil, massage oil, or as an air freshener, and in your diffuser.
Also, any oil, or oil blend, can be used to make aromatherapy candles, and any of the recipes given above can be used for your aromatherapy candle recipes, just alter the amount of oil to suit the strength of the scent you want within the recipe.
